Use of digital media for teaching and learning
Digital media are a huge part of everyday life for adolescent students. The teaching of comprehensive media literacy is therefore one of the core tasks of schools and we at the Bilingual Gymnasium Phorms Munich face up to this responsibility by not only enabling our students to learn in a contemporary way with the help of digital media through a contemporary digital learning environment, but also consciously placing the acquisition of digital media literacy, including digital citizenship skills, at the center of our current school development. Successful concepts from the international school community complement the requirements of the Bavarian curriculum at our school.
Each student has their own laptop at their disposal (Years 5 – 7: school owned devices, Years 8 – 13 student owned devices "BYOD") and students and teachers have safe, stable and fast access to the Internet in all classrooms. Interactive SMART displays have long since replaced the old chalkboards on our campus. Effective and efficient classroom technology enables our teachers to use digital media in a targeted manner and without much fuss where and when they offer added value. This also increasingly refers to the use of artificial intelligence in the learning process of the students.
