Individual support for our students
In addition to the requirements of the Bavarian curriculum, we offer a variety of programs and initiatives that aim to promote both the academic performance and the personal development of the students individually. Our goal is to meet the different needs and talents while building a solid foundation for the future.
1. Support for academic performance
- Intensification in the main subjects: In the subjects of German, mathematics, French and Latin, we offer targeted intensification courses in all grades 5 – 10 in order to provide students with optimal support.
- Additional support lessons: If required, additional support lessons are offered in small groups in the subjects German, Mathematics and French in order to address specific learning difficulties. For students joining from other schools, we also offer support lessons in English if required.
2. Challenges for gifted and talented students
- Preparation for external language certificates: Students have the opportunity to prepare for internationally recognized language certificates, such as DELF (French), DELE (Spanish) or Cambridge certificates (English).
- Science competitions: Students can take part in competitions such as the Pangea Mathematics Competition, the Bavarian Mathematics Competition, the Computer Science Beaver or the International Science Olympiad. In addition, there are always enrichment offers to promote problemsolving thinking in mathematics and science.
- Politics and society: Participation in programs such as Model United Nations or participation in the European competition.
- IB Diploma Program: Individual certificates or the full IB Diploma can be obtained in addition to the Abitur.
3. Discovering and developing interests and talents
- Electives for grades 5 to 8: Electives are integrated into the core timetable and offer students the opportunity to pursue their interests or discover new ones without the pressure of school grades. In each of Year 5 to 8, we offer up to four elective courses from the following areas:
- Hands on Science & Nature: e.g. Everyday Chemistry or School Garden CCA
- Creativity with new media: Here, students learn artistic and problemsolving skills in practical settings, such as 3D-animation, coding, 3D-modelling and printing.
- Dealing with current social issues, e.g. in the "Daily Democracy" or "Sustainability CCA" offers
- Health and physical education: Here we offer additional sports such as judo and volleyball.
- Performing Arts: Our offers in the performing arts are usually available to our students across age groups and therefore take place after the end of the lesson in the late afternoon.
- Theater/Musical CCA
- Chamber Choir
- Rock CCA
4. Personality development and social skills
- Residential trip program: Shared experiences on school trips to attractive destinations strengthen the community and create lasting memories for our students of their school days. The focus is always on educational goals including the promotion of social skills, but of course these should be fun, too.
- Support during the teenage years: Our wellbeing coordinator and our school psychologist offer support in this particularly sensitive developmental phase, accompanied by a mentoring program in grades 8 to 10. We attach great importance to a positive teacher-student relationship and have a zero-tolerance policy towards bullying.
- Mentoring and Personal Development: In Years 8 to 10, we offer a mentoring programme that supports students in their personal and social development.
