Individual Support

We encourage and challenge our students according to their abilities and talents. Small classes in an all-day school setting provide ideal conditions for this. In the core subjects of Mathematics, German and the second foreign languages (French or Latin), we generally teach one hour more per week than stipulated for Bavariansecondary schools. In addition, we offer a two-stage support system: There is the opportunity to consolidate the current lesson content through targeted queries and additional exercises in smaller group settings in the so called “Intensivierungsstunden”. During extra support lessons, which are independent of the “Intensivierungsstunden” and where learning group sizes are even smaller, basic subject competencies are worked on.

Through subject-specific and cross-curricular enrichment offerings, we provide academic challenges for our students. Students are encouraged to participate in official competitions in languages, social sciences and STEM subject. In the elective classes of the lower and middle school, there are opportunities to deepen the understanding of technical and social aspects of digital media.
The Model United Nations is particularly important for our older students. Here they learn not only to think about possible solutions to current challenges in international politics, but also to formulate their own opinions to the point and present and argue their case. Participation in international Model United Nations simulations, e.g. in New York, is one of the highlights of many students' school careers here at Phorms.
