Our Cooperations

Munich Centre of Teacher Education at the LMU Munich

After the state recognition of our Gymnasium, we are a cooperation school of the internship department belonging to the Munich centre for teacher education (MZL), at the renowned Ludwig-Maximilians-University, since the beginning of school year 2018/2019. For the first time, seven student teachers are interns at our school during the school year, doing the one year Intensivpraktikum. The LMU offers this more intense option of an internship that provides students with a deeper insight into being a teacher. To do so, the future teachers got to know the school in a first module in September and early October 2018. From mid-October, they are at our school for one full day each week, except for the semester break. Being guided by their personal supervising teacher, they face all the challenges of being a teacher. We are more than pleased about this direct connection to an important centre of teachers’ education.

Technical University of Munich

Since the school year 2010/11, the Secondary School of the Phorms Campus Munich has been a reference school for the Technical University of Munich. This means that trainee teachers enrolled at TUM regularly do internships at our Secondary School. Gaining an insight into a bilingual school life is especially helpful to them. In an exchange with professors and lecturers, any experience gained at our school becomes part of the training of future teachers. Vice versa, this cooperation gives direct access to the latest research results from educational theory and didactics.

The TU Munich is one of the universities that has been rated in the course of the initiative of excellence for cutting-edge research at universities. With this cooperation we won a brilliant scientific partner who will be of great benefit to gifted students at our school. In addition, the continuous exchange with teacher students of the TUM keeps us up to date with the latest development in research.

Support Association of the Phorms Schools Munich: “Friends of Phorms”

This support association founded by parents assists the school in many different projects and investments. In addition, it awards scholarships. For more information please visit the website of  “Friends of Phorms” support association.

International Baccalaureate Organization

In June 2014, the Phorms Campus Munich became a registered IB World School and can offer the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme as of the school year 2014/15. Students can complete the IB as an additional certificate if they meet certain requirements.

Duke of Edinburgh's Award Programme

Since the beginning of the school year 20/21 students of our Secondary School can take part in the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award programme.

The Duke of Edinburgh's International Award (DofE) programme is the world's leading youth achievement award following the motto "There is more in you than you think". Young people in over 130 countries participate in the award and its reputation with higher education establishments and employers is unique. The award aims at supporting young people's personal development and encourages them to design their own programme of activities, set personal goals and challenge themselves to achieve their aims.
