Today was STEM Day!

Our first- and second-graders took on an exciting building challenge: Using straws and tape, they had to build a structure that could support a can of tuna for 60 seconds.

The ideas for how to solve the problem varied widely—and many fantastic, creative structures were created. Even though the children don’t know much about structural engineering and construction yet, they developed impressive solutions with plenty of curiosity, team spirit, and imagination.

And whenever things got a little tricky, our dedicated high school students were there to offer advice and hands-on help, providing the children with fantastic support.

A day full of creativity, teamwork, and exciting STEM moments!
