Phorms Grinch

Phorms Primary School -

To celebrate this advent season in Year 4, the students have been busy working towards filling our life-sized Grinch display with hearts of love. Each day, one student draws a card which lists a ‘random act of kindness’ class goal. Tasks such as holding the door for someone, playing with a lonely child and offering to help, are examples of these small interactions that can positively impact someone’s day.

The students have the opportunity to reflect on their actions, and share their stories. Once the act of kindness has been done, it is written on the heart and then displayed on the Grinch. The inspiration, of course, comes from the famous Dr.Seuss story, How the Grinch Stole Christmas: “Maybe Christmas, he thought, doesn’t come from a store.
Maybe Christmas, perhaps, means a little bit more.”

Certainly, the Year 4s have been doing a fantastic job this year making the holiday season at Phorms mean a little bit more.
